shopping in belek

So i googled shopping in alanya and this is what came up;

The experience for every tourist is to once visit one of the many Turkish markets. The colored driving and the variety of the offer will always remain in your memory. Belek has a very typical Turkish market on ever Saturday. It is very interesting to observe the atmosphere and the colored driving and the action there. All here offered textiles or perfumes are forgeries. Begun from fruit, vegetable and hardware, handiworks, by living chickens, up to the copy of the jeans of Levis, everything is offered for sale. Here many people come from the surrounding villages and sell they products. 

well, i can already see myself roaming in the streets of belek, checking out local foods and crafts it has to offer and once i am dead tired, i'll treat myself to a nice turkish massage ;)  Also, not to forget to click some beautiful pics of what i get to see!!! but until then here are some pics from my google search...

now that i have covered food and shopping, i might as well do a little search on places of interest to visit and things to do (apart from shopping and sun bathing) :)   so watch this space!

here we go, as promised some pics of the turkish food and some how i am really pleased with choice of holiday!! the food looks and sounds delicious and i cant wait to get there... turkish food is famous for its kebabas (yummm), mezes (also yumm) and the super awsome turkish sweets!!

turkey

so, after a few weeks of discussions husband and I came on to the conclusion of booking a holiday in turkey this summer! but the ordeal did'nt end there because we had to decide where we wanted to stay!! as we started to explore, realised how beautiful turkey was and the decision only got harder.... long story short we have now booked a resort in belek, antalya its a beach resort city of turkey. here are some pics from the internet.....

looks like an awesome place to me and i am pretty excited to go there, will do some more research on food and shopping.. will share the info soon! :)

happy holii

its holi time and i wish all of you a very fabulous holi!! do enjoy the ghujias and bhangwali thandai.. i remember when i was a kid we used to gorge on golgappas and homemade chaat, hmmm.. ok enough about the food the festival is about colours, so here's a splash of colours and new designs from holii...

bath gourmet..

Well diwali is over and its going to be christmas soon!! And i am participating in various christmas gift shows and in my last one i simply fell in love with these lovely bath gourmet products.. so me and my new friend (also an exhibitor on that show) indulged in a bit of shopping and bought these beautiful bath goodies for ourselves.. ohh it also has one musk smelling football shaped bath creamer for our hubbies!!!

it comes in a beautiful packaging, very similar to chinese take away!!

first time we saw these, we thought they were sweets..  the box actually says 'please do not eat'!

very pretty stuff and smells fabulous.. can't wait to use them!

Diwali is here...

Its that time of the year again and diwali is only 2 days away!!! 

I have already started planning festive decorations and i am sure all of u r too..

Sharing some decoration ideas from my home sweet home..

added some purple carnations to old wood tea light holder.. 

a new candle decoration that i have been saving for diwali, its made out of mirrors.. 

in this one i have placed a tea light in one of my lacquer napkin rings!

some more lacquer napkin rings and they look like little diyas!

was so pleased with my new quilt packing idea that I had to share a pic.. 

 
its wrapped in plastic (so that it does'nt get dirty) and its tied with a hemp string in the middle. I have made a little loop at the top for handling and its unbelievably sturdy!! And I know its self praise but it looks awesome!! :)
